Ohara Koson (1877-1945) was a Japanese woodblock print artist renowned for his mastery in the early 20th century. Specialising in prints of birds, flowers, and landscapes, Koson’s work epitomised the Shin-hanga movement, revitalising traditional ukiyo-e art. His prints, admired for their meticulous detail and delicate coloring, gained international recognition, influencing artists like Vincent van Gogh and Gustav Klimt. Despite challenges, including natural disasters and war, Koson’s legacy endures as a timeless representation of Japanese artistry and nature’s beauty. Desk calendars measure 155 x 170 mm. These calendars do not have diary boxes. They have a fold-out triangular centre to make them free standing.
